Limits, trials, what happens when you downgrade, and connecting your own domain.

Trial

30 days at Growth limits, no card. Saving your branding, then downloading a QR code or copying a company link for a real client that has a review link (in either order) counts as activation. Activation does not move the clock: you have the full 30 days from signup to get a real client live before deciding.

Limits and gates

White-label is on both plans: no “Powered by Starkeel” anywhere your clients or their customers can see. The plans differ only in how many clients they hold. More than 50 clients? That is the Custom option on the pricing page: email support@starkeel.com and we will quote volume pricing.

Limits apply when you create things. If you downgrade above a limit, nothing is deleted; you just cannot add more until you are under it.

When a trial or subscription ends

The dashboard becomes read-only (billing and your Account settings stay usable). Public review pages, the widget and report links keep working for 7 days. After that, the review page shows a plain link to the client's Google reviews, so a scanned card never dead-ends (a client with no Google link gets a short notice instead). A failed renewal payment gets 14 days of normal service while the card is retried before the same read-only period starts. You are emailed three days before a trial ends, when it ends, two days before public pages switch off, when they do, and when a payment fails.

Custom domains

Open Custom domain, enter a hostname you control such as reviews.youragency.com, and create the two DNS records shown: a CNAME that points the hostname at us, and a TXT record at _starkeel-challenge.reviews.youragency.com holding a token unique to your workspace. The TXT record is how we know the hostname is yours to use; a CNAME alone is not enough, because every workspace is given the same target. Use a subdomain, not the apex of your main website. Press Check now once DNS has propagated. Your yourname.starkeel.com subdomain always keeps working, so printed cards survive the change, and an existing domain is never switched off by a plan change.

If your DNS is hosted on Cloudflare, turn the proxy off for the CNAME (grey cloud). If you would rather keep the proxy on and the page shows a further TXT record from Cloudflare, add it as well so Cloudflare can confirm the hostname.

The badge next to the hostname reads not live yet, live or needs attention, and the steps under it say which record is still missing. Once the TXT record has been seen and the CNAME resolves we confirm it and provision the certificate, usually within minutes; the TXT record can be removed after the domain is live. If the certificate stalls, the page shows another TXT record to add. A hostname that is not live within 7 days can be connected by another workspace, so finish the DNS the same day you start.

Payments

Cards and invoices are handled by Stripe. Change plan, update the card or cancel from Plan & billing. An upgrade is charged pro rata straight away; a downgrade is credited on the next invoice.
